Essential Oils are Described as the Blood or Healing Life Force of the Plant.
Dating all of the way back to 2000 B.C., aromatic plants and their essential oils have been used by various cultures around the world in ritual, medicinal, scientific, & personal aspects of their lives.

Because these plants have been around for thousands of years and have been exposed to viruses, bacteria, fungi, and large amounts of sunshine, they have developed excellent immune systems as protection. Research has now shown us that these beautiful oils not only smell nice, but have medicinal properties that are extremely potent, beneficial to our health, & accelerate healing.

Essential oils are:

  • Anti-Bacterial
  • Anti-Oxidizing
  • Anti-Aging
  • Anti-Viral
  • Anti-Fungal
  • Anti-inflammatory

How Do Essential Oils Work in the Body?
Osmosis (external application)
The tiny molecules in essential oils (when dissolved in a carrier oil) are absorbed through the skin and reach small blood vessels. They are then carried through the blood stream to the muscle tissue and all the organs. The oils are then excreted through the kidneys, bladder, and skin, and then exhaled through the lungs.

Olfaction (Inhalation)
When essential oils are inhaled, the molecules are absorbed into the bloodstream through the lungs and it effects the entire respiratory system. The olfactory nerves in the nose that connect to the limbic system are also involved in the absorption of these molecules. The limbic system deals with the part of the brain responsible for regulating feelings, emotions, memory, learning, and physical drives. The absorption of these essential oils in the limbic system trigger neuro-chemicals that can be sedating, relaxing, stimulating, or euphoric in effect.

Science Endorses Ancient Wisdom
Essential oils are so naturally and beautifully fragrant, it is hard to believe that they are some of the most potent disinfectants and germicides in the world. Anti-viral, anti-bacterial, anti-septic, anti-fungal, anti-inflammatory, anti-spasmodic, anti-neuralgic, anti-depressant, and anti-oxidant properties can all be found among the various essential oils-many in far more powerful efficacies than in chemical or synthetic versions. The essential oil of oregano, for example, has been shown to be up to 25 times more powerful as an anti-septic than phenol. The essential oil of tea tree has been coined as a pharmacy in a bottle because of all its healing properties in the body. In many countries, such as France, aromatherapy is being incorporated into western medicine. Certain essential oils even require a prescription for use.
